9:30 PM -- Well, it's started. I came home tonight to find that they'd pretty well taken care of the demolition stage -- the contents of the bathroom have been moved into a pile on the garage floor. And many of the pieces are quite small -- especially the tub, which is lying on the top. Part of it. The rest is in several-inch-square chunks.
The view looks different already -- nothing is there. When you take out the tub, the toilet, the vanity, and the walls, it's quite spacious. Seems much bigger than the 5' by 8' that it is. And the view from the other angle shows the same thing. Room, room, lots of room.
Another interesting thing I discoverd is that the people who lived here first left messages on the walls. There are scribblings on the wall. One of them has a date, 1988 -- which means that five years after the place was built, there was bathroom work done.

9:30 -- and they're here. And I can already hear sounds from upstairs. Scary.

Day 1 of the process. Actually, Day 2. Day 1 was yesterday, January 31. This is the day when the contractor was supposed to appear and start removing the old bathroom. With extreme prejudice. (Another photo is here).
But he didn't. So Day 1 is actually Day 0, and today, Day 2, is now Day 1. Contractors arriving soon -- it's 8:00 now, they're coming at 9:00.
